9th October 2013, Dubai, UAE: Zane Scotland fired a bogey free, final round 67 to overcome a two-stroke deficit and win the Shaikh Maktoum Dubai Open, of the MENA Golf Tour, at Al Badia Golf Club.
Scotland finished the three day tournament at -13 after rounds of 65, 71 and 67. “I didn’t drop a shot today – and that was the key,” said the Englishman.
David Law was runner-up finishing at -11 with a closing round of 69. William Harrold and Roland Steiner finished in a tie for third at -10.
Day 2 leader Jake Shepherd struggled down the stretch on the final day, finding the water on holes 17 & 18, to close four off the pace with a three day total of -9.
For Scotland, this was his third victory this season on the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Golf Tour. The next tournament for the tour will be the Ras Al Khaimah Classic, beginning on Monday, 14th October.
